Role Overview

Meta, a leader in social technology, is looking for a talented AI Research Scientist to enhance our AI organization. This role requires a deep understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computational statistics. Key areas of expertise include sequential decision-making, graph learning, reinforcement learning, deep learning, data representation, and theory & optimization.

The successful candidate will strive to break new ground in understanding intelligence, aiming to make computers more intelligent. Your efforts will connect new scientific findings directly to product development, impacting how we evolve intelligent machine technologies.

Core Responsibilities

• Advance the science and technology of intelligent machines.
• Enable learning across various data semantics (images, video, text, audio, and more).
• Handle research projects, strategies, and problems from moderate to high complexity.
• Produce publications that influence the research community.
• Work closely with cross-functional partners to apply research outcomes to Meta's product development.
• Lead and collaborate on research projects within our team.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Previous experience in a faculty, industry, or government research role.
• Ph.D. and publications in machine learning, AI, computer science, or related fields.
• Proven leadership in managing modeling problems using AI/ML approaches.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or C#.
• Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment at time of hire and beyond.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of post-PhD work experience in AI research.
• Experience as a technical lead on large scale projects.
• First-author publications at major AI conferences.
• Skills in interdisciplinary and cross-cultural collaborations.
• Proven track record of transferring research to production-level machine learning products.

Compensation

Salary: $213,000 to $293,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits.
