Overview
Join VF Corporation as an Analyst, Global Trade Data Management. In this role, you will enhance import duties visibility—a significant indirect tax—by supporting the implementation and execution of dynamic solutions for global duty dashboards. These dashboards will provide comprehensive, near real-time insights into VF’s cross-border trade transactions, aiding strategic decision-making and optimization efforts.
How You Will Make a Difference
Collaborate with VF’s Sr. Manager for Customs Systems to:
- Develop and integrate robust import and duty dashboard platforms both with external customs brokers and internal VF systems.
- Implement and maintain data analytics platforms using cutting-edge tools such as Power BI, Business Objects, and Tableau.
- Explore the benefits and set up a data pool to extract all relevant data elements and objects.
- Train end-users globally within the customs & trade (C&T) organization on the new reporting platforms and technologies.
- Support initiatives integrating customs and trade data analytics with other areas, such as Global Logistics, Global Product Supply, and Global Product Costing.
- Establish scalable reporting tools for short-term transactional analysis, medium-term trend analysis, and produce reports supporting VF's Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) for long-term planning.
Skills for Success
To excel in this role, you should have:
- 5+ years of progressive customs and trade experience in large multinationals, preferably in the apparel and footwear sector.
- Expertise in the global harmonized trading system, including classification, trade agreements, and valuation.
- Knowledge of the latest systems and data platforms.
- Familiarity with AI tools, large language models (LLMs), machine learning, and relevant programming knowledge is a plus.
Educational and Position Requirements
Required qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business, Economics, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs or global trade compliance, preferably within the apparel and footwear sector.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in customs & trade, data, systems, and analytics in this domain.
- Experience with Global Trade Management (GTM), Logistics, and Sourcing systems such as SAP Global Trade Services (GTS), Descartes/Customs Info, and Infor Nexus.
- Proficiency in managing large data sets with tools like Power BI, Business Objects, Tableau, etc.
- Experience using data sources such as US Customs ACE, EU Taric, WTO International Trade Center Market Access Map, and Descartes/CustomsInfo.
- Comprehensive understanding of global trade data structure, architecture, metadata, and customs brokerage systems.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a matrixed environment.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills.
- Fluency in English.
