Job Description:

We are in search of an experienced Analytics Engineer to join our team, committed to improving our customer-facing analytics product line. The perfect candidate will have a strong base in algorithms, data structures, and data warehousing concepts. They should be proficient in SQL and have a considerable aptitude for data analysis and exploration.

The Analytics Engineer role will necessitate familiarity with data engineering tools such as DMS, DBT, and Airflow and proficiency in Business Intelligence technologies like Power BI, Looker, and Tableau. We are seeking a detail-oriented problem solver who is passionate about staying abreast of the latest technology and data trends.

Responsibilities:

Technical Duties:

  • Comprehend business requirements and convert them into tailored data models using LookML.
  • Confirm the data accuracy of implemented solutions.
  • Create and maintain bespoke dashboards for clients, visualizing data according to their specific needs.
  • Manage start-to-finish data pipelines, including DMS, Redshift, and Airflow, ensuring smooth data flow.
  • Support and update data models using DBT.
  • Onboard new clients onto our Analytics platform, guiding them through the process.
  • Monitor alert channels to investigate and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, especially data update problems.
  • Offer consultation and training to aid colleagues in enhancing their skills when required.
  • Customize LookML models to meet the unique business requirements of each client.

Communication & Leadership Duties:

  • Effectively communicate with our business and technical teams, both in written and verbal form, to understand the analytics requirements.
  • Assist team members in overcoming obstacles, resolving blockers, and completing work tasks.
  • Contribute to technical documentation such as technical design and as-built documents.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in algorithms, data structures, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write queries, functions, and procedures.
  • Experience in data analysis and exploration.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, written, and oral English language communication skills

Desired Skills/ Experience:

  • Experience with AWS.
  • Familiarity with data tools like DMS, Dbt, and Airflow.
  • Understanding of BI technologies (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Tableau), methodologies, and their applications.
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum development with sprints
