About the Role
We are seeking an Applied Scientist to join our rapidly expanding team of highly talented professionals and work on groundbreaking robotics technology.
In this role, you will integrate and test robotics embedded systems and sensors, both in the real world and in hardware-in-the-loop simulation. You will collaborate with multifunctional teams working closely with the hardware, as well as users of sensor data.
This role demands close collaboration with teammates on-site in our robotics lab situated in the Greater Boston Area. We will provide relocation assistance for this role.

Responsibilities
- Drive development of the robotics platform and the roadmap for embedded systems on more advanced robotics.
- Integrate and test robotics embedded systems and sensors, in the real world and in hardware-in-the-loop simulation.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams working closely with the hardware, as well as internal users of sensor data.
- Work on-site in our robotics lab in the Greater Boston area.
Your Technical and Professional Expertise
- 3+ years of industry experience in robotics, drones, or autonomous vehicles.
- 3+ years of Linux software development.
- Strong hands-on experience with embedded PCs, Raspberry Pis, etc.
- Hands-on experience with sending and receiving data from sensors and actuators (RGB cameras, LiDAR, motor controllers, etc.).
- Experience with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART.
- Excellent self-starter with a can-do attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
What Will Make You Standout
- Experience with Nvidia embedded systems.
- Experience using and configuring ROS1/ROS2 on embedded systems.
- Experience integrating perception into embedded systems: cameras, IMU, GPS, LIDAR.
- Rapid prototyping.
- Familiarity with ARM hardware architecture and software development.
