Join a leading global financial services firm as an Associate in Systems Engineering with Goldman Sachs Services, LLC. This position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and provides an exciting opportunity to develop and implement advanced engineering solutions to support our firm's technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Systems Engineering Associate, you will:

• Gain expertise in various engineering domains, including datacenter design, networks, storage, grid compute, operating systems, databases, communications, market data, and software languages.
• Contribute to the design and development of our computer and data infrastructure by identifying internal hardware and implementing public and private cloud-based solutions for on-demand scaling of applications.
• Create automated testing processes, set standards, and develop tools to ensure the smooth operation of the firm's business activities.
• Utilize data mining and machine learning techniques to identify and address issues within our infrastructure and platforms.
• Analyze and resolve application issues, document error resolutions, and minimize operational errors.
• Develop and monitor reports to track and manage application health and performance.
• Monitor risks in the production environment and manage change processes.
• Enhance application stability and performance through automation and trend analysis.
• Review and assess production incidents, communicating with users, application owners, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation, performance tuning, and database queries.
• Assist with business continuity planning and disaster recovery by developing and implementing contingency plans.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or related field and one (1) year of experience in a similar Systems Engineering role, or a Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in the listed fields with three (3) years of relevant experience.

Required experience must include:

• Performance tuning and troubleshooting application issues utilizing cosbench, code debugging, or log analysis.
• Software development using UNIX operating system, Shell scripting, or Python.
• Designing and supporting database systems using technologies such as DB2 or Sybase ASE.
• Working through the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, design, prioritization, coding, testing, release, and support.
• Cloud object storage performance tuning and diagnosing performance issues by analyzing query execution plans and setting up disaster recovery.
• Systems management for platforms such as Microsoft Configuration Manager or equivalent enterprise systems management products.
