If you have a passion for detail and a profound knowledge of Statistical Reporting in the P&C field, this is the opportunity for you. We are enlarging our team of business analysts in order to form effective partnerships with our clients to understand their policy and claims data and aid them in transforming their bureau reporting processes. We require people who can combine an understanding of data management, regulatory needs, and client engagement abilities to be part of our journey. The Business/Data Analyst will be responsible for providing requirements specification for new and adaptations to existing regulatory reporting. This includes new necessities from the bureaus and coordinating with the regulatory reporting business unit, application, and reporting teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of policy, premium, claim, and loss data for the P&C insurance industry.
  • Collaborate closely with data reporting business units and understand clients’ Policy Admin and Claims datasets and be able to map this data to internal data warehouse/data model standards.
  • Document client data sources and carry out gap analysis to identify data transformation and quality requirements.
  • Maintain close interaction with the ETL team for implementing data transformation rules, data validations into the data warehouse.
  • Document business requirements, gathering user stories, functional specs, data mapping, wireframe/prototyping, including data migration rules, business rules, wireframes, or other detailed deliverables.
  • Document data sources for client projects and carry out gap analysis and develop recommendations and solutions.
  • Coordinate with data reporting teams to understand their requirements and represent them to the data warehousing team.
  • Development of test cases, SQL scripts for Unit testing, performance testing.
  • Develop industry best practices and solutions for business challenges for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with business users and lead all testing efforts for Unit, QA and User acceptance testing phase.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture and data analysis practice in the P&C Insurance industry.
  • 3+ hands-on experience in developing business design specifications, technical design specifications, and developing data validation test cases.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in Insurance Data model and able to create/maintain/coordinate business glossaries with project stakeholders.
  • Data Mapping hands-on expertise, able to understand business requirements and derive data dictionary and data requirements.
  • Experience in functional requirement documentation preparation, document reviews execution, and data flow diagrams development.
  • Experience with any of the tools preferably any two of CA ERWIN, JIRA, Quality Center Test Director, etc.
  • Understanding of ETL tools, able to interact with ETL development team and create source-to-target mapping and technical specifications.
  • Strong SQL is fundamental and previous experience in any of the databases Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, and Postgres.
  • Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills, and involvement in project scoping, effort estimations, and status report. Strong Technical Writing skills.
  • Experience in one of the Policy and Claims systems is preferable – Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, etc.
