Role Overview

As a Connected Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing and analyzing connected vehicle data to support new vehicle launches and resolve existing vehicle quality issues. Focusing primarily on Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)-related issues, your expertise will be crucial in developing connected vehicle data solutions and supporting data-driven decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

This position involves:

  • Collaborating with Product Development (PD) teams to extract and analyze connected vehicle data to tackle potential issues.
  • Working with hardware and software engineers during program launches to triage and address vehicle faults effectively, promoting swift corrective actions.
  • Enhancing the utility of connected vehicle data through innovative tool and method development for efficient problem resolution.
  • Implementing project management best practices to manage risks and ensure seamless progression of projects.
  • Building strong relationships across Ford's North American organizations to foster a collaborative environment.

Required Qualifications

You'll need a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Computer Science-related field along with:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Big Data Analytics.
  • Proficiency in query languages such as SQL, HiveQL, Google BigQuery, or Spark.

Preferred Qualifications

We are particularly interested if you have:

  • 2-5 years of experience in big data analytics.
  • Strong familiarity with data ingestion from diverse sources and robust knowledge of data management.
  • Experience with automotive systems and a proven ability to visualize data insights effectively.
  • Proficiency in GitHub and JIRA, with robust project management and organizational skills.
