Role Overview: Data Analyst, Insights & Analytics Team

At Virta Health, the Insights & Analytics team plays a pivotal role in shaping strategic decisions using data-driven insights. As a Data Analyst in this team, you’ll be essential in delivering exemplary external reports and transforming data to support our mission. This contractor position offers a remarkable opportunity to apply your analytical prowess to real-world challenges in a dynamic, mission-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate customer reporting.
• Standardize incoming pharmacy claims files while ensuring data consistency.
• Create impactful reports, dashboards, and data visualizations in collaboration with the Commercial Team.
• Improve data pipelines focusing on efficiency and automation.
• Work within an agile environment to prioritize projects effectively alongside your team.

Must-Have Skills

• 1-2 years of experience handling healthcare data.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and familiarity with relational databases.
• Skilled in ETL frameworks, data transformation, and validation processes.
• Experience in developing BI dashboards, preferably with Looker or Tableau.
• Proactive collaboration skills for internal team engagements and scalable system developments.
• Ability to manage data in changing environments with keen attention to detail.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with pipeline building tools like dbt or airflow.
• Knowledge of Google BigQuery and Looker visualization tools.
• Background in handling medical/pharmacy claims and familiar with EHR and FHIR data structures.
• Proficiency in using statistical methods with Python, R, or similar tools.
• Proven project management skills.

Additional Information

As a contract Data Analyst, you’ll be handling sensitive patient information and will adhere to Virta’s strict privacy and security protocols. Training will be provided to ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
