Your role is to determine how data can be utilized to address questions and solve problems. You will be responsible for gathering requirements, inspecting, cleaning, transforming, and modulating data with the aim of discovering useful information, reaching conclusions, and aiding decision-making.
You will need to have strong communication skills as you will be sharing your work and liaisoning with various stakeholders. You will also need a good eye for details as you will be handling a large amount of data and information which requires accuracy.
Throughout the program, you will gain and develop Data Analysis skills and will be involved in various tasks such as: implementing the stages of the data analysis lifecycle, applying principles of data classification within data analysis activity, analyzing data sets considering different data structures and database designs, assessing the impact of user experience and domain context on data analysis activity, identifying data sources and challenges to data analysis activity, and selecting and applying the most appropriate data tools to achieve the best outcome.
As a Data Analyst Apprentice at Amazon, you will gain a wide range of valuable experiences and skills. You will work towards the Level 6 Data Analyst apprenticeship standard and the BSc (Hons) in Digital & Technology Solutions.
Your skills will be built over a 36-month period, starting in September. This will contribute to your personal and professional growth. Your apprenticeship will include classroom or virtual training, on-the-job training at your Amazon base location, online learning, and mentorship from our experienced team members.
In addition to extensive development of your technical skills, you will also improve your abilities in important complementary areas such as organization, prioritization, data and problem-solving techniques, teamwork, communication, presentation skills, and document writing.
You will join the team, assisting with daily tasks, learning how Amazon operates and delivers for its clients. As your knowledge and expertise increase over the duration of the scheme, you will have opportunities to participate in and guide projects, making a significant difference for clients. The on-the-job experience will help you compile a portfolio of evidence towards your apprenticeship. You will have designated time to focus on your studies.
After successfully completing your Data Analyst Degree Apprenticeship, you will be eligible to apply for relevant roles across Amazon globally.
You will attend numerous workshops throughout your apprenticeship. These will be a mix of face-to-face and online workshops delivered by a training provider. You will also attend internal training courses to support the development of your Amazon-related skills and knowledge. Depending on the scheme and the location of the training provider, you may be required to travel and possibly stay overnight (costs will be supported by Amazon).
Your primary responsibility will be to work as a Data Analyst Apprentice within your assigned team whilst continuing your studies to achieve your qualification. As a working student, your focus is on completing your studies in your designated 20% study-time by increasing your skill set, knowledge, and behavior to work towards successful graduation. Your training provider and manager will set objectives and goals for you to support your learning.
About the team:
Amazon is the perfect place to start your career as a Data Analyst. Our Data Analyst apprentices can work in numerous tech and non-tech Amazon teams, supporting the business team with ad hoc data requests and analyses. You will develop reports using Tableau and QuickSight for repetitive data tasks where data pipelines/queries are ready (concessions, CS metrics, operations), automate manual processes and undertake deep dives on metrics.

Basic Qualifications: What are we looking for?
Candidates must be at least 18 years old before the start date and have the right to live and work in England.
For the apprenticeship program, we prioritize applicants eligible for government funding for their apprenticeship. To be eligible, you must:
- Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years
- Be a resident of the UK for the entire duration of the program
- Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2023 or later
To be eligible for this program you will also need to have at least 5 GCSEs C grade (grade 4) or above including Maths and English plus any of the following:
- 2 A Level passes (A-E) in 1 or more STEM subject, or
- BTEC extended diploma in a similar subject or STEM T-Level Grades in a similar subject, or
- Level 3 Apprenticeship diploma in a similar subject.
