Job Description

Joining the Product and Technology data team, the Commercial Data Products team collectively enhances the data operational capacities for audience segmentation of the Sales Data Products team: gathering, storing and utilizing 1st and 3rd party data to offer better-focused advertising. These data are exclusive to Nine and serve as a competitive edge in creating premium data product inventory. Our focus is consistently on constructing high-performing data products, promoting efficiency, and reducing complexity in our data systems and models.

As a Data Engineer for the Customer Data Platform (CDP), you comprehend the significance of CDP within a large media organization, directly assisting in data integration into CDP. You will collaborate closely with the Tech Lead, Product Manager, working comfortably with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your work ethic should be strong, keeping to the best practices and standards to ensure high standard of work and optimum performance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Construct and monitor data ingestion, transformation, and integration into the CDP, ensuring data quality and uniformity
  • Create and update security labels on datasets, construct and maintain automated access forms, implement measures to protect data.
  • Establish monitoring tools, create alerts, and actively resolve any performance issues to maintain the platform's efficiency.
  • Constantly optimize the platform's performance to facilitate fast query and retrieval of customer data.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams, including data analysts, marketers, and product managers, to understand customer requirements and introduce new features or improvements to the CDP.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge and application of SQL and Python, used on Airflow and Cloud Platform, preferably Google Cloud Platform
  • Basic understanding of database structures, theories, principles & practices
  • Prior experience in a similar Data Engineer role
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, Version Control like Github or Bitbucket
  • Prior experience with at least one renowned CDP vendor (such as Adobe Experience Platform, Tealium, Salesforce, Segments or Hightouch) is desirable
