Data Engineer
Job Description
The Data Engineer will cooperate with senior data engineers to construct and manage applications that are tasked with the ingestion of data into the Dun and Bradstreet Contact Pipeline. They will focus on evaluating performance/throughput blockers of the applications and will collaborate with other team members to eliminate the bottlenecks in the applications. The Data Engineer will also create metrics from the ingestion applications to help identify areas that require improvements in terms of performance and/or throughput.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage applications in Python.
- Assume responsibility for further development/improvements of existing applications.
- Collaborate closely with related groups to maintain business continuity.
- Analyze code bases to increase performance.
- Participate as part of the team to review and test other members' code changes.
- Perform as a member of one or more agile teams, using lean principles and SCRUM methodology.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science, mathematics, data science, or a related field)
- Experience with Python for application development (2-5 years)
- Proficiency with SQL for data analysis and querying (2-5 years)
- Demonstrated capability to work independently on important projects and deliver on time.
- Ability to cooperate closely with others to resolve problems.
- Experience with hosted environments, AWS, Azure, or other cloud service providers preferred.
