At Tryg, we are embarking on a transformative journey to enhance our culture around data handling. As we evolve our systems within Skade DK, the accessibility and compliance of real-time data become vital. To achieve this, we are seeking talented data professionals eager to quicken our progress.

As a Data Engineer, you will have full responsibility for supporting data in AI and BI solutions through:

• Data Analysis
• Data Modeling
• Streaming ETL Implementation
• Data Quality

We operate from a business perspective and continuously develop our tools and tech-stack to meet business needs and optimize costs.

Tools You'll Work With:

• Java (KStreams) - Java, combined with our framework, is used in all our data pipelines.
• SQL - Used not only for analyses but also for transformations, macros, and models in dbt.
• Kafka - Serves as our streaming platform. Our data pipelines are purely Kafka-based.
• Git - Everything must be stored in a Git repository, and we are moving towards a GitOps setup in collaboration with our DevOps team.
• GraphQL - Used as an integration layer to access data from various systems.

Working closely with our DevOps team, you will also gain exposure to Docker, K8s, Operators, and CI pipelines.

Collaboration skills will be crucial to your success in this role. You will engage daily with stakeholders from Data & Analytics and the rest of Skade.

About Us | Data Enablement and Automation

You will join the Data Enablement & Automation team, which currently includes 7 colleagues. We are part of the Data, Analytics & BI unit in Skade Denmark. We are passionate about data, each of us having different backgrounds, including Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and BI professionals. We play a central role in achieving Skade's strategic ambitions.

Together, we focus on developing artificial intelligence and Business Intelligence solutions to enhance customer experience and efficiency in claims processing. Beyond professional sparring partners in Skade DK, you will join Tryg's extended Data & Analytics community. You will work closely with the ART Digital Claims, as well as Compliance and Finance within Skade DK.

About You | Passionate About Data | Explore Streaming

You likely come from a data-related background, accustomed to analyzing, understanding, and transforming large data sets. Ideally, you have experience with data analysis, data modeling, or Java. You might have only worked with batch processing but are now keen to expand your skills into streaming – a journey we are excited to include you in!

Experience in the insurance industry is a plus but not a requirement. As our data engineering tech-stack centers around Kafka and streaming, demonstrating experience with these is advantageous.

A strong curiosity and an ongoing desire to invest in your own development and our business initiatives are important to us. We are always looking for smarter ways to work and welcome new initiatives. You will have a significant role in shaping your career and impacting our unit.

Tryg operates teams in multiple countries, thus a natural curiosity and understanding of cultural differences are expected for success in this role. The company language at Tryg is Scandinavian languages, but much of the day-to-day business is conducted in English. We expect you to be fluent in both Danish and English.
