What You Will Do
- Take ownership, prototype, and implement customer solutions
- Investigate and prototype data procurement strategies for scientific lab equipment
- Examine and prototype file parsers for instrument output files (.xlsx, .pdf, .txt, .raw, .fid, several other vendor binaries)
- Design and construct data models
- Design and develop Python data pipelines, unit tests, integration tests, and utility functions
- Facilitate internal project post-mortems to identify improvement areas for the next implementation
Requirements
What You Have Done
- 4+ years in Python and SQL
- Passionate about science and building solutions to make data more accessible to end-users
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in chemistry, biology, computer science, statistics, public health, etc.
- Experience in a wet lab or with scientific instruments is a strong advantage
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the confidence to manage project delivery
- Quickly understand a highly technical product and effectively communicate with product management and engineering
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Intellectual curiosity: relentless drive to learn and know more each day
- Ability to think creatively about how to resolve project risks without reducing quality
- Team player and willing to "roll up your sleeves" and do whatever is necessary to help the team succeed
