Data Engineer Position at Bentley Systems

Location: Home-based office in the US (Eastern/Central Time Zone)

Company: Bentley Systems, a leader in infrastructure engineering software, is excited to announce a vacancy for a skilled Data Engineer within our Data group. This role is perfect for professionals with a strong background in cloud data technologies and complex data management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer at Bentley Systems, you will:

• Develop scalable cloud data solutions using technologies like Snowflake, Azure Data Warehouse/Synapse, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Architect and maintain robust ELT data pipelines using tools like Matillion and ADF.
• Design and execute complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Integrate data with various scripting languages, with a preference for Python.
• Create effective data models for the data warehouse.
• Collaborate within the Data Office - Architecture and Engineering team to meet the company’s data engineering needs.
• Liaise closely with business stakeholders to align on requirements and expectations.
• Provide leadership in data projects, offering estimates and timely updates to both team members and management.

Required Skills:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in building scalable cloud data solutions with MPP data warehouses and data storage solutions.
• At least 2 years experience with complex SQL and scripting, with an additional 1+ years in Azure and Snowflake environments.
• A minimum of 2 years developing and deploying large-scale data solutions and supporting business intelligence projects.
• Strong communication skills, crucial for teamwork and stakeholder interactions.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Power BI and analytics platforms like Spark or Databricks.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python.
• Knowledge of code repository management, especially GIT.
