Position Overview

Our newest team member will support the British Gas Service and Solution (BGS&S) Financial Control team. You will play a crucial role in delivering essential data analytics, initially focusing on revenue reporting and SAS script migration. You will utilize key analytical tools such as Python, R, SAS, or SQL within our robust data framework, gaining valuable insights through data-intensive processes.

Main Responsibilities

• Efficiently migrate SAS scripts to enhance analytical performance.
• Support system change testing pre and post-implementation.
• Create advanced analysis to interpret data and assess financial performance.
• Drive finance process improvements by increasing automation levels.
• Partner with virtual teams for project deliverance, impacting finance.
• Ensure data integrity during finance system migrations.
• Develop new reporting processes and dashboards with Power BI.

About You

Possess a methodical and analytical mind with a passion for solving problems through data. You have experience in data manipulation, preferably with SQL or SAS, and proficiency in Python or R is beneficial. Familiarity with visualization tools, especially Power BI, will be an advantage. You should be able to work independently and are keen on learning about Big Data technologies.
