At NBCU, we strive to be at the forefront of advanced technology and are seeking a clever group of technologists we refer to as Media Tech Interns.

Our program introduces students to technical opportunities across NBCUniversal’s Operations & Technology organizations and serves as the primary pipeline into our Rotational Associate Programs. As a NBCUniversal Media Tech Intern, you'll acquire first-hand experience, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge to practical situations. We provide a two-day in-person orientation in our NY office for all interns to meet each other and various business leaders.

Students will get a taste of how one of the world's largest media and entertainment companies operates and delivers strategic, innovative solutions.

Possible areas of placement include, but are not limited to:

  • Data & Analytics, Consumer: This central support team serves multiple business units across NBCU. The main projects you'll be exposed to include Data Mesh and Machine Learning Operations (ML Ops). The Data Mesh Project focuses on centralizing the supply of data sets ("products") needed throughout the organization, with an emphasis on reducing data storage costs of redundant data products. Teams involved in this effort include: Product (PMO), Enterprise Data Governance (EDG), Data Management, two development teams (Data Mesh Application and Data Mesh Governance), and numerous business units across NBCU domains. As an intern, you would be situated in the midst of these teams, gaining exposure to prioritization, planning, and development practices of all groups. The Machine Learning Operations team, relatively new to NBCU/D&A, aims to broaden technological capabilities in Data Management, Machine Learning, and Data Science.
  • Data Engineering, Research: Our team consists of data engineers supporting content production, research transformation, film, marketing, and DAVD. Many of our projects involve gathering data about NBCU's owned content, rights-held content, rented rights content, content performance, and film box office performance. As an intern, you would enhance and create data ingestion pipelines, review code on pull requests, and optimize the cloud.
  • Data Engineering, Content Analytics: The Content Analytics organization provides insights for various businesses across NBCU. We construct data pipelines to gather data across the entire content lifecycle, including studios, titles, rights, scheduling, supply chain, marketing, theatrical releases, and performance measurement. Working within the Data & Analytics portfolio, you'll partner with other engineers solving similar problems within their domains and learn from some of the industry's brightest data engineers. As an intern, you'll help build data pipelines and familiarize yourself with data we can ingest regarding our content. You'll also create data models for ease of use of the data we gather.
