Job Description

The Data Integrity Coordinator I role is pivotal in reflecting the core mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine. Adherence to our Code of Ethics, Corporate Compliance Program, and all related policies and standards is expected. This role is integral to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of patient data across various systems.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Integrity Coordinator, you will:

  • Regularly review and verify patient information across internal and external systems to ensure accuracy in the Master Patient Index (MPI) and Clinical Information System (CIS).
  • Analyze and test system changes to enhance data quality and system performance.
  • Handle data corrections, including merging records and correcting registration errors.
  • Maintain seamless cooperation with healthcare providers and departments regarding patient data inquiries and corrections.
  • Support the integrity of electronic health record systems and manage related requests and communications efficiently.
  • Provide training and develop tools to improve data integrity and system utilization.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's degree or at least 3 years of experience in a hospital or medical office focusing on areas such as customer service, medical billing, or health information.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field, or RHIT/RHIA credentials.
  • 5 years of experience in a hospital Health Information Management department.
  • Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with Epic systems.
