Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Science Intern who will collaborate with industry professionals on database querying, data cleansing, preprocessing, enrichment, and visualization. Utilizing internal business logic, statistical analysis, and machine learning, this role involves considerable mathematical, statistical, and financial modeling capabilities, along with mastery in visualization tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To thrive in this position, you will:

• Support day-to-day, month-end, and year-end financial reporting and analysis for domestic and international entities.
• Develop annual financial budget templates.
• Analyze monthly budget vs. actual financial data, supporting budget and group owners.
• Deliver data insights to various business departments.
• Utilize SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, PowerBI, and Excel for data analysis tasks.
• Present critical data insights to stakeholders effectively.

General Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proficiency in general ledger systems, financial chart of accounts, and corporate procedures.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, as well as SQL, Python, and PowerBI.
• Adaptability to various software databases.

Education and Experience

Candidates should be current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Preference is given to seniors or postgraduate students and those with at least one year of general accounting experience.

Physical Demands

The role involves common office-based activities such as sitting, standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs). Candidates should be able to communicate effectively, manage standard office equipment, and occasionally bend, twist, or stoop to access office supplies.

Work Environment

The office environment is typically quiet and temperature-controlled, with occasional noise or temperature shifts. Candidates should be willing to work their regular schedule and be flexible to extend hours based on project demands. Some overnight travel may be required. While on client sites, adherence to proper safety precautions is mandatory.
