The CPIT Product, Data, and Technology organization is dedicated to “Deliver and Run the Intelligent Enterprise”. Being SAP’s technological backbone and its most compelling reference customer, CPIT plays a crucial role in influencing SAP's product development and strategy with our customer experience at the core. In alignment with SAP's updated AI Strategy and vision on Generative AI, we are expanding our team to accelerate the delivery of Data & AI Cloud Solutions.

The Role

As a Data Scientist/Data Engineering Subject Matter Expert, you will integrate into the AI Factory Governance team. Your collaboration with other data scientists, architects, product owners, scrum masters, AI developers, as well as students and interns will be crucial. Your goal will be to develop a cutting-edge delivery framework that democratizes, accelerates, and scales internal AI to maximize value impact and optimize time-to-market for AI solutions. Your expertise in data structures, databases, data modeling, and ETL tools, combined with your analytical capabilities, will continually enhance and optimize AI Factory operational processes, ensuring their execution and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive and implement continuous improvements in the AI Factory delivery framework.
• Apply SAFe Agile operational standards to maximize efficiency and returns on AI investments.
• Act as a Data Science/Data Engineering expert within the AI Factory Governance team.
• Collaborate closely with AI Factory Product Owners for needs and requirements alignment.
• Ensure compliance of AI Factory solutions with security, AI Ethics, DPP, and legal requirements.
• Facilitate quarterly AI Factory planning for prioritizing diverse improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to AI Factory operational KPIs reporting and drive KPI improvements.
• Create reusable and enablement assets within the AI Factory context.
• Educate customers and stakeholders on AI/ML.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in machine learning, computer science, engineering, or related fields.
• Experience working with AI Scientists, MLOps Engineers, and Product Owners.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand SAP business processes.
• Implement SAP AI standard solutions and develop custom solutions for business process automation.
• Proficient in Agile practices including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe.
• Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts, MLOps, and cloud technologies/frameworks (e.g., Jupyter, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, SAP BTP).
• Experience with Python libraries and Machine Learning frameworks (e.g., Numpy, Pandas, Keras, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Interest in business process engineering and modeling.
• Good understanding of ITIL and ITSM.
• Ability to take ownership and collaborate effectively.
