Key Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist II, you will:

• Plan, build, optimize, and implement innovative quantitative analytical methodologies, procedures, and products.
• Provide analytical support and interpret insights to address business opportunities and problems.
• Ensure implementation of relevant policies, governance, and practice standards across the business.
• Maintain expert knowledge of legislative amendments, industry best practices, and internal compliance procedures.
• Innovate to deliver customized solutions for efficient outcomes.
• Maintain and update models regularly to ensure relevance and accuracy.
• Validate, interpret, and create reports and presentations for data analytics management and stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship to junior Quantitative Analysts.
• Ensure ethical usage of information and adherence to privacy policy requirements.
• Report any Information Privacy Incidents and escalate appropriately.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define metrics that track performance and identify monetization opportunities.

Additional Duties

• Assist in the production of analytics within the approved FirstRand architecture.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure data is correctly utilized for operational results.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for analytics within the business.
• Develop analytical algorithms and methods to build, test, and implement robust mathematical models.
• Document, audit, and optimize processes to achieve cost savings, revenue generation, and operational efficiency.
• Engage in cross-functional relationships to manage expectations and share knowledge.
• Identify and escalate potential risks to enhance cost efficiency and operational targets.
