We are Hiring: Data Scientist II for Our Cost Prediction Team

If you are passionate about utilizing machine learning tools and techniques to build, optimize, and evaluate predictive models, Xometry has an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking a Data Scientist II to predict various business outcomes and make data-driven statistical inferences.

Core Responsibilities

  • Leverage data analysis and visualization tools (Looker, Jupyter Notebooks, Python, Pandas, and R) to shape business strategies
  • Apply data science and machine learning methodologies to develop high-impact predictive models
  • Write software to prepare, clean, and sample data for model development
  • Utilize cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services) for data preparation and processing
  • Query and extract data from databases including Snowflake and MongoDB
  • Continuously iterate solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Address and solve challenging, uncharted problems
  • Collaborate in a team-oriented setting that fosters continuous learning

Required Qualifications

  • Degree (preferably M.S. or PhD) in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, and optimization techniques
  • Strong proficiency in Python, numpy, scipy, pandas, and sklearn
  • In-depth understanding of linear algebra and statistics
  • Familiarity with scientific software principles, such as versioning systems, reproducibility, and code deployment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly
  • Availability to work core aligned hours to US Eastern Time / GMT-5
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder (ITAR)
