Division Overview

Our statewide Corrections and Community Reentry Services division specializes in case management to assist individuals transitioning back to their families and communities post-incarceration. We operate both within prisons and local communities, offering substance use disorder screenings, treatment placements, and support services, including insurance enrollment, state ID acquisition, and employment resources.

Position: Data Specialist

We are seeking a full-time Data Specialist with a starting salary of $36,000, contingent upon experience and education.

Position Summary:

The Data Specialist will complete reports for inmate transfers and capacity management for the Wait List Coordinator and Case Managers. The role requires travel to correctional centers throughout Illinois to gather and report data. The successful candidate must be proficient with computers and data management and comfortable with travel, including overnight stays 3-4 times a year.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree preferred in human services, social work, or related fields, or 1-2 years of experience in human service activities.
  • Experience working with a variety of personnel, including IDOC counselors, security personnel, and treatment vendors.
  • Database management and programming skills for Microsoft MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Access, Excel, Paradox, Lotus, and dBase.
  • Possess clinical skills to manage clients effectively.
  • Ability to obtain CARS or CADC certification through the State Certification Board (IAODAPCA) within the first two years in the field (if required by the program). MISA certification is optional but encouraged.
  • Knowledge of the Code of Ethics for substance abuse professionals.
  • Understanding of the federal drug and alcohol confidentiality law (42 C.F.R. Part 2) and HIPAA.

TASC currently offers a hybrid work schedule combining in-office and remote work. Employees are required to report to the work site three days per week with the option to work up to two days remotely.
