Job Overview

This role is responsible for defining the Data Architecture strategy for our Global Risk Management (GRM) organization. Key responsibilities include:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identifying and mitigating data risks.
  • Collaborating with GRM Data Stewards, Data Users, Data Owners, and Technology Teams to remediate data architecture deficiencies and drive data strategy.
  • Consulting with data stewards, business process owners, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to gather information about current and target state business processes, data architecture, and domain data models.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce data redundancies across the Risk Organization.
  • Developing and socializing Data Taxonomy, Data Architecture Standards and Principles, and Data Model Standards and guidelines.
  • Assessing and identifying deficiencies against internal data management policies and standards or industry best practices.
  • Coordinating with other Front Line Units and Control Functions to streamline the Data Sourcing Strategy for the Risk Organization.
  • Collaborating with technology teams, architects, and other key stakeholders to drive solutions for operational excellence and resiliency.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders and sponsors regarding plans, progress, and risks.

Business Overview

The Global Risk Management (GRM) team at Bank of America oversees bank-wide risk management, including strategic, market, credit, compliance, liquidity, operational, model, and reputational risk. Within GRM, our Data Strategy & Management (DSM) function has a Strategic Coordination and Implementation (SCI) team focused on structuring data sourcing and data quality control.

As a Data Strategy, Data/Information Architect, you will have the opportunity to build partnerships, explore end-to-end data ecosystems, and co-develop data solutions that drive significant value across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, System Analysis, Information Systems, or related field
  • 7-10+ years of experience in Data Strategy, Data Architecture, Data Engineering, and Data Management
  • Experience with Modern Data Architecture (Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, Data Mesh/Products, Data Market Place)
  • Strong process/systems analysis, design, and documentation skills
  • Strong understanding of Risk Management and Data Management principles
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and adapt to changing requirements
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with areas such as Trading, Consumer Banking, Wealth Management, and Transaction Banking
  • Experience with Big Data Architecture and Cloud Data Platforms (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Experience with Data Virtualization Tools (Trino, Dremio)
  • Experience with Data Sourcing Movement Tools
