Roles & Responsibilities

At CIMB, we are seeking a Data Translator to serve as an expert in data analytics, covering predictive analytics, descriptive analytics, data visualization, and delivering comprehensive solutions to solve critical business challenges. As part of your role, you will:

• Act as the subject matter expert in data analytics, encompassing predictive and descriptive analytics, as well as data visualization.
• Provide a full spectrum of fit-for-purpose solutions to address business issues.
• Understand job requirements, propose suitable solutions, and challenge the status quo to deliver value.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including relationship managers, technology teams, data scientists, and product managers.
• Drive projects and experiments to completion with minimal supervision, even in a frequently-changing environment.
• Assist in the identification and exploration of requisite data, evaluating feasibility, and extracting actionable insights from large datasets.
• Plan, develop, and implement data analytics models in cooperation with data scientists, technology teams, business users, and product teams.
• Anticipate problems, define issues, identify possible causes, and work with teams to find and implement the most appropriate solutions.
• Develop and execute project plans, identifying schedules, specifications, risks, and contingency plans.
• Stay updated with the latest analytics techniques and technologies.
• Leverage expertise in the banking industry to identify the value of AI and analytics in a business context.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• A strong understanding of key operational metrics of the business and their impact on profit and loss, revenue, and customer retention.
• Knowledge of common use cases within commercial banking, such as customer segmentation and churn prediction.
• Keen understanding of data science and machine learning techniques.
• Experience working with technology teams and data scientists, managing the development and deployment of data analytics projects into a production environment.
• Ability to clearly deliver data findings to non-technical audiences.
• Competency in data manipulation tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python) and reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).
• Self-motivation with a can-do attitude and comfort in ambiguous and complex situations.
