The SAP AI Product Engineering Team is part of the SAP Business AI unit and one of the key drivers of the Intelligent Enterprise. Our mission is to infuse all enterprise applications with cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence capabilities, empowering our customers to maximize their business data. We are responsible for foundational products such as SAP Generative AI Hub, AI Core, and AI Launchpad, enabling application AI Developers to embed AI capabilities in their applications. Our innovative, start-up-like teams are based in Germany, Singapore, and India.

What You'll Do

As an AI Core Developer, you will join the SAP Artificial Intelligence product engineering team within SAP’s AI unit. In this dynamic, fun, and start-up-like environment, you’ll learn and work on emerging technologies, solving real-world problems at the intersection of Cloud, DevOps, and Artificial Intelligence. You'll collaborate with seasoned software engineers, architects, DevOps experts, and AI specialists to explore cutting-edge topics in the cloud AI ecosystem.

Your tasks will include:

• Exploring, understanding, and implementing recent technologies and approaches for cloud platforms and data pipelines.
• Designing and developing a high-performance platform capable of handling and processing large volumes of requests efficiently.
• Working within a diverse team, employing scrum and agile development methodologies.
• Creating excellence in both quality results and system scalability through continuous evaluation, analysis, and refinement of system implementation.
• Striving for automation and cloud operation readiness.
• Performing quality assurance tasks and solving complex integration issues.
• Working in global teams across different time zones.
• Immersing quickly into new topics, terminologies, and development tasks.

What You Bring

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3 to 7 years of working experience as a software developer, preferably in AI-focused cloud/container application development.
• A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, design patterns, multi-threaded programming, and software design principles.
• Sound experience in cloud native development.
• Strong coding development and debugging skills, including hands-on experience with Go and Python.
• Experience working with message queues such as Kafka and a clear understanding of pub-sub systems.
• Hands-on experience in developing REST APIs using frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, etc.
• Experience working with DevOps, including but not limited to container technologies like Docker & Kubernetes, as well as Cloud Native technology stack such as Istio, Helm, etcd, Argo, and Envoy.
• Experience with cloud-based application development using platforms such as SAP’s business technology platform, AWS, Azure, & GCP.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with the concepts of Generative AI, Foundation models, and LLMs.
