Exciting Opportunity: Director, Statistical Programming

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as Director, Statistical Programming. This leadership role offers the chance to coach, mentor, and manage a team of programmers, ensuring high-quality, timely deliverables while adhering to established standards and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic, scientific, and programming advice to the team.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a group of programmers, fostering guidance and mentorship.
  • Ensure productive, collaborative team dynamics and align team objectives with organizational goals.
  • Contribute to capacity management, resource planning, and talent recruitment.
  • Ensure compliance with internal, external, and regulatory requirements for programming deliverables.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within and across functions.
  • Represent AstraZeneca and the Programming function at external events.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Life Science, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in programming leadership.
  • Expertise in SAS (or R) and SAS macros.
  • Thorough understanding of the clinical development process and industry standards (CDISC).
  • Strong leadership, organizational skills, and ability to guide teams towards common goals.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and global teams strategically.
  • Experience in managing risk and providing subject-matter expertise.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience in designing and implementing business processes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory submissions and interactions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
