Job Description:
We are looking for a TS/SCI cleared Field Service Engineer based in Columbia, MD. Your main duties will include maintaining mission essential systems and directly supporting end-users in an operational environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Proficiency in supporting a distributed LINUX server and Database environment - both Virtual and Physical
- Solving complex IT issues and taking the initiative to recommend and implement solutions
- Regular interaction and collaboration with military personnel
- Displaying a positive attitude focused on user support, teaching, and advising on technical and functional matters
- Meeting short notice operational requirements
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience supporting distributed systems in a production environment or mission command experience in lieu of
- 2+ years of experience with TCP/IP networking, including addressing, subnetting, routing, and troubleshooting techniques
- 2+ years of experience with system administrative scripting (bash, Python, etc.)
- A Security+ certification
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
Bonus points if you have:
- 3+ years Linux Systems experience
- Field Operations experience
- Comfort working in collaborative environments with open communication and reaching across functional borders
- Collecting customer requirements and training users
- Willingness to work occasional long hours and weekends when necessary
- Desire to learn new technologies to share and build knowledge with the teams
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field
Security Clearance:
- TS/SCI in DISS required
