Role Overview:

As the Head of Data Engineering at Twinkl, you will lead the development of a state-of-the-art Data Engineering department. Collaborate with data and product teams to streamline data processes and uphold high-quality data standards for analytics and reporting. You'll also support the implementation of machine learning algorithms in partnership with data science teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and translate business requirements into data solutions.
• Design and deploy scalable data pipelines.
• Ensure data integrity and quality across all platforms.
• Leverage industry trends to enhance our data engineering practices.
• Lead a robust team of data engineers, promoting continuous learning.
• Develop data governance frameworks and act as a data engineering expert.

What You Bring:

• Extensive experience in data engineering with a firm grasp of data architecture and ETL processes.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Apache Spark, and Hadoop, alongside cloud data services like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proven competency in managing data engineering teams to achieve business goals.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communicational skills, adept at cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field.
