Job Overview: HIM Clerk - Data Quality

The HIM Clerk plays a crucial role in securing and maintaining patients' health records. Responsibilities include:

• Verifying and assembling patient records into the legal medical record
• Identifying and filing loose reports, including transcriptions
• Pulling and filing medical records for authorized requests
• Maintaining the chart tracking system for ease of retrieval
• Scanning documents and performing other assigned duties
• Answering telephone calls and assisting visitors while maintaining confidentiality

Qualifications

Experience

• Experience with accurate alphabetic and numeric filing preferred
• Knowledge of terminal digit filing and medical terminology preferred
• One year of healthcare experience preferred
• Proficiency in computer data entry with a 10-key and accurate typing speed of 35 wpm preferred

Education & Training

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a medical terminology course preferred
• Background in business or office training preferred

Desert Valley Medical Group offers competitive compensation with a comprehensive benefits package tailored to individual needs. The estimated reasonable compensation for this role, including wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, ranges from $16.50 to $20.37 per hour. Starting compensation will be determined based on factors including skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
