Job Responsibilities and Requirements

NextGen Data Architecture

As a key member of our development team, you will be instrumental in implementing RSLI’s NextGen data architecture, incorporating cloud-based solutions with big data, RDBMS, and analytics technologies. Your role will involve:

• Leading the analysis and design of technical solutions to advance NextGen Reporting and Analytics.
• Enhancing team knowledge in Reporting and Analytics technologies and methodologies.
• Partnering with implementation teams to transition to new data architecture and identify growth opportunities.
• Setting standards for delivering Reporting and Analytics including data quality, user experience, and self-service enablement.

Lead Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Own technical Reporting and Analytics solutions across the Data Program.
• Create and assist in creating estimates, collaborating with external vendors.
• Build strong relationships with key business area users across the enterprise.
• Provide technical support for internal and external team members across all Data work streams.

Reporting and Analytics

You will develop and support Reporting and Analytics products and processes within Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), including:

• Operational BI reporting, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Understanding the underlying data warehouse structures – dimensions, facts, and summary tables.
• Creating robust designs based on thorough user needs analysis.
• Unit testing to ensure compliance with specifications and data quality.
• Troubleshooting data issues from the warehouse through the OAC reporting layer.
• Collaborating with data modelers, engineers, and BI analysts for end-to-end solutions.
• Regular status reporting to management.

Business Community Support

As a key contributor, you will facilitate self-service enablement and foster a strong user community through our BI Center of Excellence by:

• Consistently engaging with the user community to understand their needs.
• Providing technical and data knowledge to enhance user adoption.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree required; I.S. degree or equivalent experience in Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience.
• Experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud or similar tools (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, etc.).
• Minimum of three (3) years of Cloud development experience, preferably with Oracle.
• Five (5) years of experience with Database Technologies, Oracle preferred.
• Five (5) years of experience with SQL; three (3) years with PL/SQL.
• Comprehensive understanding of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing processes.
• Experience in data modeling within RDBMS including the Kimball Design Methodology (star schemas, bridge tables, etc.).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience

• Experience with insurance data, preferably Group over P&C, LIMRA.
• Financial data experience, including General Ledger, Sub-ledger, Chart of Accounts, IFRS.
• Experience with annuities data.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
• Flexible work locations, subject to approval by the company.
