Key Responsibilities

As an IT Data Engineer, you will:

  • Design and manage large, complex data sets to meet both functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Utilize strong SQL capabilities to conduct advanced data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Engage in data modeling and manipulation to extract value from substantial disconnected datasets.
  • Develop and maintain efficient data architectures to optimize data flow and collection for cross-functional teams.
  • Build and maintain processes for data transformation, structure, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Lead multiple concurrent projects, demonstrating an ability to prioritize and adapt to business needs.
  • Enhance data quality through periodic reviews and adopt continuous improvement practices.
  • Research, identify, and integrate new data sources to enhance business intelligence efforts.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A Bachelor or Associate degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • At least 2 years of experience with data warehousing solutions, preferably within the Google Cloud Stack.
  • Proficiency in various ETL tools (DataFusion, DataFlow, DataStage, SSIS) and programming languages like Python.
  • In-depth knowledge of database architectures, data modeling, and SQL, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in project leadership and working with technologies such as Google BigQuery, Denodo, Azure Dev Ops (ADO), and ServiceNow.
  • Excellent documentation skills and experience in providing Level 3 support.

This position requires authorization to work in the United States without the need for the Mayo Clinic's sponsorship, now or in the future.
