Job Description
- Design and execute data strategy for existing and new data services solutions
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and product analysts to understand data requirements
- Work with architects and application development teams to understand product functionality and design direction
- Contribute to cost estimates regarding resources necessary for successful business solution implementation
- Assist application development teams in planning, implementing, and testing new releases within our production systems environment
- Supervise and aide in the execution of special projects and enhancements following agile methodologies
- Consistently produce and deliver quality software to production
- Create and maintain efficient workflows for software development and delivery
- Guide other engineers in data engineering design and automated software delivery
- Provide mentorship and training to less experienced team members, if needed.
- Complete other tasks assigned by team Leader/ Manager.
Qualifications
General requirements:
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to learn independently and quickly adapt to new technologies.
- Digital mindset, can-do attitude, adaptability, and product-centered thinking.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and effectively communicate with the team and management.
Technical requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience working with SQL databases.
- Proficiency in SQL programming and database management along with expertise in complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views composition.
- In-depth understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience in database design, normalization, and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
- Awareness of scripting languages for automation and data manipulation (Python, Java, C#, R, or Shell Scripting)
Preferable skills:
- Knowledge of software development methodologies like Agile or Scrum.
- Familiarity with database security best practices and data encryption.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and tools such as Amazon Redshift or Google BigQuery.
- Proficiency with BI (Business Intelligence) tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Awareness of cloud-based database platforms like AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL.
