The Position

As the Lead Data Scientist, you will leverage both internal and external data resources to deliver reliable analytics products and services, enhancing decision-making processes and contributing to Novo Nordisk’s innovation and growth. Your role will involve acting as an analytics consultant, understanding stakeholder needs, and developing strategic solutions that drive forward our business objectives.

Key Relationships

Reporting to the head of Rapid Cycle Analytics (RCA), you will function within the Clinical Data Science & Evidence (CDSE) department as an analytics specialist, interfacing with various teams such as Medical Affairs, Clinical Trial Management, and Market Development. Your expertise will also support the mentoring of Analytics interns and coordination with external vendors.

Essential Functions

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and deploying innovative analytics services that address specific client needs.
  • Introducing cutting-edge data-driven methods for generating insightful business analytics.
  • Leading the adoption of new analytics tools and practices to keep Novo Nordisk at the forefront of the industry.
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders to tailor data presentations that inspire action and drive strategic decisions.

Physical Requirements

The role requires 10-20% overnight travel.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with six years of experience, or an advanced degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in information visualization and familiarity with analytics platforms like AWS, R, Python, and SQL.
  • Deep understanding of data interpretation and the ability to convey complex data in meaningful ways.
  • Expertise in specific disease areas relevant to Novo Nordisk’s interests.
