Salary:

Lecturer Grade F: £39,347 to £44,263 per annum
Lecturer Grade G: £45,585 to £54,395 per annum
Senior Lecturer Grade H: £56,021 to £64,914 per annum

The Role

The Microsystems (uS) Group, formerly known as Microelectronic Systems Design (MSD), is a pioneer in the research and teaching of electronic systems, circuits, devices, and computer engineering since 1979. Our research collaboration spans globally, contributing significantly to multiple industries such as computing, healthcare, and environment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic lecturer/senior lecturer to advance our research and teaching in next-generation computing and electronic systems. The key focus areas include:

  • Machine learning and artificial intelligence at the edge
  • Design of electronic and computer systems hardware/software codesign for embedded systems and IoT

The successful candidate will:

  • Publish research in high-quality journals
  • Secure research funding from diverse sources
  • Contribute to the School’s current research specialisations
  • Participate in extensive government, industrial, and research council funded activities

Your Responsibilities

You will oversee teaching AI systems engineering at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise postgraduate research students, act as a personal tutor, and participate in the administration of degree programmes. You will also drive new initiatives and carry out internationally leading research in AI systems development.

Your role will also involve providing leadership and line management, representing the School and University at various levels, and networking regionally, nationally, and internationally to ensure that AI systems engineering methods and their applications remain at the forefront of decision-making and research activities.
