Linux/Systems Engineer Sr. Advisor - TS/SCI w/Polygraph (Warrenton, VA)

Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Infrastructure Linux Team, your responsibilities will include:
- Monitor system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair for daily operations.
- Assist application teams with the creation, configuration, and deployment of Linux systems.
- Collaborate with other teams to deploy new software and improve existing systems.
- Project-based development, implementation, and documentation of Linux systems including security enhancements, resource monitoring, and Dev/Ops automation.
- Initial troubleshooting of issues and collaboration with other teams for resolution.
- Provide updates on project status through team communication tools.
- Participation in and support of accreditation processes such as scans, automation, and auditing.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field; or equivalent education, technical training, or military experience.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Systems Engineer.
- Experience building, administering, and securing cloud environments, including hybrid setups.
- Hands-on experience with cloud VPCs, subnets, route tables, and gateways configuration.
- Experience scaling applications with Java, Python, or other programming languages using Cloud Native technologies.
- Experience deploying code in AWS with solutions such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with puppet and ansible in cloud and on-premise environments.
- Extensive experience as a Linux Systems Administrator for RHEL/CentOS.
- Proficiency in scripting tools: Shell, Perl/CGI, Python, Ruby.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective oral and written communication of technical information.
Preferred Skills
- AWS Certification: Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud technologies like Glue, EMR, HIVE, Spark, S3, SQS, and SNS.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes or EKS.
- Experience using AWS CDK.
- Experience with SQL querying of relational databases, such as MySQL.
- Experience setting up Docker clusters using Swarm or Kubernetes.
- Experience with git for Infrastructure code management.

The likely salary range for this position is $157,250 - $212,750. However, this is subject to factors such as experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements, and it may vary.

Travel Required: Less than 10%
