Job Summary

As the Manager of Clinical Data Management, you will oversee and manage all aspects of Data Management Operations, including staffing, project management, operations, and client management. Your technical expertise will be key in leading Data Management tasks effectively.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day data management operations
  • Serve as subject matter expert during client and vendor meetings
  • Support business development in capabilities presentations to clients
  • Provide input for department and clinical study budgets
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams, sponsors, vendors, etc.
  • Act as Project Manager on clinical studies as needed
  • Mentor data management staff in collaboration with the Director of Data Management
  • Plan, allocate resources, and ensure successful execution of project work
  • Provide direction to resolve staff issues
  • Ensure proper training and development of staff
  • Conduct meetings and complete year-end performance reviews
  • Monitor team performance and initiate improvements
  • Adhere to the company's quality system, data integrity, and business ethics requirements
  • Perform other related duties as required

Required Skills

  • Articulate and professional communication
  • Extensive experience in Clinical Research and Data Management
  • Electronic Data Capturing (EDC) experience; Medidata Rave experience is a strong plus
  • Expert knowledge of ICH Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice and Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Effective budgeting and implementation skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree (preferably in Engineering, Applied or Life Science) and at least five years of Clinical Data Management experience, including leading clinical studies
  • Or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience with a minimum of six years of experience in clinical trials
  • Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM) status and six years of relevant experience
  • Two years of direct personnel management experience preferred
  • Experience in clinical research within a CRO setting and CDISC SDTM training is preferred
