Our Connected Technology Group (CTG) establishes and propels the digital, data and technology strategy for KPMG. We play a pivotal role in advocating technology in the market and across KPMG, liaising with our technology leaders to increase our market presence. We foster collaboration and integrate tech execution across our business, leading a firmwide approach to our market entry and the building of our people's capability, as well as attracting new talent.
KPMG is currently experiencing significant transformations in the Data & Analytics field and is therefore seeking an experienced data-focused Solution Architect with a wide-ranging ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving IT atmosphere. This presents a fantastic opportunity to make a considerable difference to KPMG as a firm by assisting in driving top-tier technology initiatives across our business in collaboration with the company's DART (data and analytics tool).
As a member of the Business Data Services team, you will be directly accountable for the design and implementation of solutions using modern cloud architectures for assorted requirements. As a thought leader, you’ll engage, educate, and enable KPMG Australia’s internal stakeholders on best practices.
Your Opportunity
As part of the Business Data Services team, we are looking for a Manager / Senior Manager with capabilities such as:
- Designing and developing enterprise-level data models that reflect the organization's data requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and standards.
- Collaborating with data engineers to ensure seamless integration of data models into data storage solutions (e.g., databases, data warehouses, data lakes)
- Creating comprehensive documentation for data models, including data dictionaries, metadata, and entity-relationship diagrams, for better understanding and usage.
- Establishing and enforcing data governance practices, including data naming conventions, data lineage, data quality standards, and data security policies.
- Collaborating with data stewards to establish data quality standards and processes that enhance the accuracy and reliability of data.
- Supporting project managers by developing tasks, estimates, and dependencies to meet delivery expectations.
- Providing substantial knowledge of secure cloud and data architecture, design patterns, and integrations.

Your Experience

- 4 + years of experience in IT, preferably with 2 + years as a data-focused Cloud Architect or Modelling.
- Proven experience as a data modeler or database designer, preferably in an enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, IBM Data Architect, ErStudio) and SQL.
- Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Acquaintance with data governance and data quality concepts.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Certification in data modeling or a related field (optional)
