ANYbotics revolutionizes industrial plants in the energy, process, and utility sectors by integrating robotics into previously unreachable applications. Our customers, including large asset operators and industrial service providers, lead the way in using robotics technology for inspection and maintenance. Our mobile robot, ANYmal, features legged mobility for navigating complex environments, camera- and LIDAR-based sensing for full autonomy and obstacle avoidance, and AI for high-quality, consistent inspection results. We develop numerous customized hardware systems, including the entire robotic platform, actuators, sensors, inspection payloads, charging systems, and all related ANYbotics mechanical hardware.

Your Contributions

  • Introduce novel mechanical solutions for our robots, such as new concepts for main body/trunk design and integration of new actuators and robotic leg designs.
  • Strongly contribute to mechatronics-oriented projects aimed at enhancing the scalability, reliability, and performance of our robotic systems while reducing production costs.
  • Incorporate design for manufacturing approaches into our systems and collaborate with production experts to mitigate core manufacturing and sourcing risks early in the technology and product development process.
  • Support a culture of fast learning and de-risking of new technologies while continuously finding creative ways to speed up the development process.
  • Manage partnerships with external engineering companies and key suppliers to expand our capabilities.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a University or University of Applied Sciences.
  • A minimum of 2 years of industrial or R&D experience with a proven track record in mechanical product and technology development projects.
  • Experience with mechatronic hardware systems.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD and DM/PDM environments, including the creation of technical drawings.
  • Strong ability to verify and troubleshoot mechanical systems with a hands-on approach.
  • Knowledge of dimensioning parts and mechatronic systems (e.g., gearboxes, bearings, pulleys, screws, cables).
  • Experienced in using DIN/ISO tolerance norms for technical documentation.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with electrical engineering.
  • Know-how in system modeling and defining load cases for dimensioning.
  • Knowledge of Python and/or ROS.
