About the Position

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will collaborate with our team to develop and deploy machine learning models across various healthcare products and domains. This highly engaging role requires an individual who thrives on owning important work and tackling challenging problems. You should be passionate about the latest developments in machine learning and stay updated with the newest methods and technologies in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for applying different machine learning techniques and evaluate their suitability.
• Assist in developing and deploying ML-based production services to our clients.
• Adhere to and promote conventions and best practices in modeling, coding, architecture, and statistics.
• Apply rigorous testing of statistics, models, and code.
• Contribute to the development of internal tools and data science team standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (Math, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics).
• 2-4 years of professional experience in developing and evaluating machine learning models.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with machine learning models and libraries. Familiarity with neural networks (NN) frameworks is a plus.
• Familiarity with NLP or computer vision techniques.
• Experience with the AWS ecosystem is a bonus.

About the Data Science Team

The Data Science team at athenahealth leverages machine learning to tackle some of the toughest challenges in healthcare. We work closely with product and engineering leaders across the company to integrate machine learning into our Best In KLAS suite of products. Our team collaborates with platform engineers to deploy cutting-edge machine learning models using cloud technology.
