About the Role: Research Intern – Generative Video

As a Research Intern – Generative Video at Dolby, you’ll work on cutting-edge topics within the field. Guided by Dolby’s leading media technology experts, you will tackle industry-relevant generative video challenges aimed at enhancing multimedia entertainment experiences. This position is based at our research office in Sunnyvale, California.

Responsibilities and Areas of Interest:

• Diffusion models, VAEs, or other generative AI models
• Video content analysis and understanding
• Ensuring consistency and coherence in video applications
• Transformers or other architectures leveraging temporal and spatial correlations in video

Requirements:

• PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Proven research abilities demonstrated through projects, prototypes, patent filings, and peer-reviewed publications
• Experience as a researcher, including internships, full-time positions, or lab work
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience:

• Creating demos and prototypes for research applications
• Developing innovative AI-based solutions for video generation and enhancement
• Applying advanced techniques for video content analysis and understanding
• Writing technical reports and/or publications
• First-author publications at peer-reviewed conferences or journals

Eligibility:

Currently enrolled in a doctorate program in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Available to work full-time Monday – Friday for 12 weeks between September 2024 – December 2024. The internship start date is Monday, September 23, 2024 (non-negotiable).

Compensation:

The San Francisco/Bay Area base hourly range for this internship is $44-57/hr. Pay can vary outside this location, determined by factors like role, level, and location. Individual pay is also influenced by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
