We are actively searching for an experienced Principal Data Engineer who can take on the role of a key data architect and team leader within our data engineering team. Roles and Responsibilities

You will:

• Build, maintain, and administer our Snowflake data warehouse using Data Build Tool (dbt)
• Implement and maintain data pipelines between various operational systems and our data warehouse using Python, Airflow, and integration platforms
• Create and maintain documentation of data architecture
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive data requirements are met
• Lead and mentor other data engineering team members and engage in peer design and code reviews
• Deliver production-quality features independently
• Work productively in a remote-first environment
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Stay updated with developments in the field through independent learning

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are searching for candidates who have:

• Professional experience delivering production-quality code independently
• A natural inclination for leading and mentoring a team of data engineers
• Proficiency in SQL and cloud-based analytical data warehouses
• Extensive experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Unix
• Expertise in building end-to-end data pipelines using Airflow and dbt or equivalent technologies
• A deep understanding of ETL and ELT patterns and best practices
• Strong data modeling skills and familiarity with the Kimball data warehousing methodology
• Experience programming with Python for data processing
• An ongoing desire to keep abreast of advancements in data engineering practices
• Strong analytical skills and an independent learning style
• Experience with git and the command line
• Experience with AWS and CloudFormation, or equivalent cloud services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• Familiarity with Docker and Docker Compose
• Subject matter familiarity with digital marketing and digital activation is preferred

Education and Experience

Required: BS Degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field
Experience: Minimum of 8 years in data science, software engineering, or relevant technical fields
