About the Role

As a Principal Data Scientist, you will be a pivotal member of our team, leading research initiatives and implementing advanced machine learning and optimization techniques. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand challenges in the pricing landscape
• Dive deep into complex business problems and immerse yourself in Nordstrom data and outcomes
• Research potential analytical approaches within the pricing domain and execute them
• Develop, assess, and deploy statistical and machine learning models for large-scale pricing recommendations
• Lead team members and collaborate with business partners to deliver high-quality solutions
• Design experiments to measure the success of pricing data products and share findings with various audiences

Qualifications

• Ph.D., MS, or Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Computer Science, or another quantitative field
• 5+ years of professional experience in analyzing complex data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations
• 5+ years of experience extracting and manipulating large data sets using SQL
• Expertise in developing and implementing statistical and machine learning algorithms from inception to deployment
• Fluency in experimental design and the ability to identify and validate metrics to measure success
• Proven success in a collaborative technical environment
• Strong passion and aptitude for turning complex business problems into concrete hypotheses and rigorous data analysis
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to mentor junior team members
