Meta's Reality Labs Audio team is on the lookout for a dynamic Research Scientist Intern, Audio Systems (PhD), ready to make significant advancements in audio system technologies. This opportunity blends hardware integration, transducer design, and innovative algorithm development. Engage with intricate engineering and technology challenges over internships spanning twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks, with flexible start dates available throughout the year.
Collaborative Development: Work alongside seasoned Audio and Acoustic Engineers to construct advanced numerical models, enhancing the efficacy of integrated transducers.
Validation and Testing: Execute rigorous lab tests and data analysis to affirm and fine-tune these numerical models.
Algorithm Innovation: Design and demonstrate algorithms that elevate the performance of our audio render systems.
Applicants must be currently obtaining, or already hold, a PhD in fields related to audio, acoustics, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or signal processing. Candidates must secure work authorization in the employment country at hiring time and maintain it throughout their employment. Proficiency in electroacoustic theory, digital signal processing, and familiarity with tools like COMSOL, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink is essential. Experience with data acquisition tools is highly valued.
Candidates with experience in designing, modeling, and measuring electro-mechano-acoustic systems, alongside proficiency in digital signal processing and adaptive filter development, will be given preference. A strong intent to return to your degree program after the internship or co-op is favorable.
