Internship Overview

As a Research Scientist Intern, you’ll dive into the complexities of hardware research specifically geared towards eye-tracking applications. This role includes designing and modeling 3D sensing hardware, development of hardware systems inclusive of electrical and DSP modules, and interfacing with diverse teams to refine hardware solutions. This hands-on experience is complemented by analysis, simulation, and evaluation of components within sophisticated systems.

This exciting opportunity is available for durations of 12 to 24 weeks, with flexible start dates throughout the year, enabling you to engage with pioneering researchers and engineers setting the benchmarks in VR technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and design system hardware specifications independently.
  • Conduct simulations and optimizations for electrical designs, analyzing device performance across various conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with testing and quality engineers to develop and automate design, testing, and validation processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a PhD program in applied mathematics, signal processing, computational optics, or related fields.
  • Possess practical experience coding in MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition hardware and signal processing chains.
  • Eligibility to work in the country of employment at the time of starting the internship, with the ability to maintain work authorization throughout the internship period.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hardware engineering or related fields, especially with optoelectronics components.
  • Experience in ASIC or FPGA design.
  • Knowledge in circuit design and usage of measurement instruments like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
  • Interest in resuming degree-program post-internship.
  • Demonstrated capability to deliver impactful results as shown through grants, fellowships, patents, or publications in prominent forums.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to thrive in cross-group and cross-cultural collaborations.

Compensation:

This internship offers a competitive salary ranging from US$7,313 to US$11,333 per month, depending on the qualifications, skills, and experience of the candidate. Additional benefits are available, enhancing the comprehensive nature of our compensation package.
