About the Role

As a Research Scientist focusing on Mixed Reality, you'll lead vital research projects and collaborate with an internationally-based team. Your expertise in 3D Computer Vision and Machine Learning will pave the way for groundbreaking advancements in areas such as Neural Rendering, Depth Estimation, 3D Generative-AI, and more. This role will have you working closely with fellow researchers, engineers, and 3D artists to prototype innovative hardware and software solutions that enhance our Presence Platform on Meta’s AR and VR devices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead research projects within a globally-based team.
• Advance the state of the art in 3D Computer Vision and Machine Learning.
• Prototype and develop new hardware and software solutions in collaboration with engineers and artists.
• Provide strategic leadership to engineering teams.

What We Need

We're looking for candidates who possess a PhD in Computer Graphics, Computer Science, Physics, or Machine Learning, complemented by a stellar academic track record. Your background should include a robust portfolio of publications at esteemed workshops or conferences such as CVPR, ECCV/ICCV, SIGGRAPH, or NIPS. Additionally, experience in leading teams to tackle AI/ML modeling challenges is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with real-time mixed reality systems for mobile or head-mounted devices.
• Demonstrable results through grants, fellowships, patents, or product releases.
• Capability to solve complex problems and evaluate alternative solutions and trade-offs.
