The Role
As a Senior AI/ML Engineer for Cover Whale, you will collaborate with a team to develop AI/ML products with considerable business significance that are utilized by numerous clients. This role is extremely cross-functional and you will collaborate with data engineering, product, business, software engineering, and operations teams.
Please note: This is an on-site role with the requirement to be in the office at least four days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Build end-to-end AI/ML pipelines and APIs to help us understand our customers and create customized solutions across multiple use cases and productize solutions at scale.
- Recognize business areas where AI/ML systems can be incorporated to increase the efficiency of business operations and the quality of customer experience.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders and experiment systematically to ensure AI solutions are rigorous and designed for business needs.
- Aid in shaping the methods our AI team works - researching and making crucial decisions about what we build, how we build it, and which tools are best for solving our challenges.
- Assess AI model performance and deliberate on trade-offs against quality measures.
Requirements
Education:
- Master's or PhD degree in Mathematics, ML, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Desired Experience:
(Four to six years of experience in a related role)
- 5+ years experience in writing production-level code (ideally in Python).
- 2+ years of experience with cloud computing infrastructure including AWS, GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience leading a team of AI engineers and scientists (good to have).
- Full stack experience and eagerness to cycle through the complete AI life cycle from defining the problem, preparing data, developing a model, tuning, and deployment.
- Experience with SOTA in one or more of the following fields: LLMs including GPT and LLaMA, Computer Vision, NLP, information retrieval, or recommendation systems.
- Proven track record in productizing real-world AI systems with high business impact.
- Expertise in the latest DL/LLM packages including PyTorch, LangChain, or Hugging Face.
- Strong background in probability, statistics, and DL/ML concepts.
Benefits
Cover Whale provides a comprehensive total rewards package that addresses employee needs and aspirations. The expected base pay for the role will be between $144,000-$179,000 per year at the start of employment. However, base pay will be determined on an individual basis and is part of the total compensation package, which depending on the position, may also include a discretionary bonus along with other benefits provided by Cover Whale:
