Workiva is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to be a pivotal part of our dynamic team. This role involves crafting sophisticated distributed services to bolster data analytics and business intelligence capabilities across the organization. Using AWS cloud technologies, the candidate will ensure these systems are reliable, scalable, and user-friendly.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will:

• Develop robust data extraction and integration solutions.
• Deploy and maintain code in integration and production environments.
• Enhance the data ecosystem’s health through monitoring and feedback mechanisms.
• Engage in software testing, data validation, and automation of tests.
• Provide code reviews and maintain high standards in development practices.
• Address production issues, improving communication with stakeholders during escalations.
• Optimize data storage, access patterns, and process SQL for performance efficiency.
• Collaborate with business partners to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Participate in after-hours production support on a rotational basis.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 4 years of experience in data engineering, emphasizing data warehousing and BI tools.
• An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics, or related fields.
• Proficiency in big data technologies like SQL, Hadoop, Spark, and AWS cloud services such as S3, Redshift, and Kinesis.
• Experience with BI reporting tools like Quicksight, Tableau, or Splunk.
• Strong familiarity with Python, R, or similar scripting for data processing.
• Agile or Sprint project methodology experience.
• Excellent research, communication, and organizational skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $79,000 - $134,000, based on location and experience.
