About This Role

As a Senior Data Engineer at Alpha Theory, you will:

• Lead the architectural transition to AWS, integrating Snowflake and other advanced technologies.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the firm to support and promote the implementation of our technological vision.
• Play a key role in strategic decision-making processes concerning the selection and deployment of new tech tools.
• Develop, define, and enforce data security and governance practices.
• Design and implement tools and scripts for effective data management and quality enhancement.
• Create and maintain scalable ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Drive the development and support of client-facing dashboards and AI tools.

What We Look For

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related software engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrable experience leading projects focused on AWS cloud migration and Snowflake implementations.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and various AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift).
• Expertise in modern data engineering tools and technologies such as Apache Spark, Airflow, and Docker.
• Strong background in Snowflake data warehousing, from architectural design to SQL development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in AWS and Snowflake technologies.
• Experience with AWS cloud migrations and financial data management.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI standards like FastAPI.
