Position Overview

We at Diligent are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Commercial FP&A team. You will have a crucial role in developing our data infrastructure within Snowflake and maintaining comprehensive documentation within DBT, our transformation and version control tool. You will collaborate with our analytical experts to provide valuable tables and views for their use in Tableau and will assist in implementing new requirements and rectifying issues as they surface. This job will be overseen by the Senior Manager of Analytical Engineering in Washington, DC. This role is vital within the global team working to establish a top-tier data infrastructure across all departments, including sales and marketing, finance, customer success, product, and HR.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Senior Data Engineer will help develop, maintain and support a company-wide data warehouse system with user-friendly, well-documented datasets.
  • Work with analytics and business teams to create data tables and views that offer clear and actionable data to our data visualization team, enhancing data accessibility and promoting data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
  • Implement scalable solutions adhering to our data governance standards and architectural roadmap for data integrations, data storage, reporting, and analytical solutions.
  • Resolve data-related issues as they arise and implement scalable solutions.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in a data engineering/analyst role – working with business or analytics team users, developing ETL flows, requirements, and documentation.
  • 5+ years of practical SQL experience.
  • 4+ years of Snowflake Experience.
  • 2+ years of Python.
  • 2+ years with ETL tools, like dbt, Alteryx.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Domo, or Power BI preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Technology preferred.
  • Experience with SaaS, or in a Sales or customer-facing organization is preferred.
  • Experience with source systems tools such as Salesforce, Google Analytics, NetSuite, Oracle HCM, etc.
  • Strong experience with ETL processes, integrating data from a 3rd party starting point and seamlessly integrating it as part of an accomplished, polished dataset.
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders and capability to output actionable datasets that meet their needs based on feedback and direction.
  • Process-oriented with excellent documentation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • High intelligence, inherent curiosity, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate on technical and business levels.
