As a Senior Data Engineer on the Core Data & Services team within the DEET organization, you'll build and oversee critical data pipelines and datasets that empower engineering and analytical teams. Your efforts will enable key business decisions and enhance operational capabilities for the largest streaming service.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and expand data pipelines using Scala and Python/Spark, ensuring high availability as per SLAs.
- Enhance Core Data platform functionalities and integrate with internal and external APIs.
- Implement batch and streaming data pipelines with Scala, Databricks, and Airflow.
- Collaborate on Lakehouse architecture and shared libraries to standardize complex business logic across data pipelines.
- Work closely with product managers and architects to further the success of the Core Data platform.
- Maintain rigorous documentation to support data quality and governance initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in data engineering with extensive pipeline development.
- Proficient in Scala, Python, SQL, and AWS or other cloud services.
- Experience with Spark and Airflow in production environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MPP or cloud database technologies.
- Proficiency in developing APIs, particularly with GraphQL.
- Familiarity with Data Modeling and Data Warehousing best practices.
This position is based in New York, NY, with a competitive salary range of $142,516 to $191,180 per year. Salary offered will depend on your skills and experience. A bonus may be provided, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
